Delivering Dignity

When someone is diagnosed with cancer it is a time filled with emotional and physical chal­lenges. With many often too sick from their treatments to continue working, it becomes nearly impossible to afford basic necessities including those to continue treatment.

Our Mission

The mission of No Wooden Nickels through our Med­Start-5 program, is to provide valuable indirect ex­pense assistance to low-income cancer patients to continue treatment.  

Who We Are

No Wooden Nickels began in 2005 in an effort to ad­dress the overwhelming lack of financial resources available to low-income cancer patients. NWN is the only organization of its kind devoted exclusively to providing indirect expense assistance to low-income cancer patients. We are delighted that in such a short time we have had such a tremendous impact on the cancer patient community. No Wooden Nick­els is a 100% volunteer-driven and donor supported organization.  

Our Vision

Our vision is that we are able to maintain a place where low-income cancer patients can turn to for financial assistance and other valuable referral re­sources. We strive to offer hope to those in need while they engage in the overwhelming, day-to-day dilemma associated with the disease.

Our ultimate goal is to impact more lives by serving patients throughout the U.S. by 2012.
